Our witness on halloween

If you know our family then you know we are a Christian family ... with that said, I'll tell you that we enjoy Halloween. We know all about Satan and his demons and evil spirits. However, we take something that could be evil and make it good. Every year I print out the Bible verse John 3:16 on a little strip of paper. Olivia and I fill snack bags with candy and the Bible verse strip. Last year we added tracts from our church. We pray over the bowl of bagged candy and know that every child who leaves our house is taking God's word with them. It is not expensive and could change someones life. Olivia and I work hard sorting the candy and putting the bags together. It is a sweet time with good conversation. Try it with your children. It will give them a sense of pride and let them know that they can change the world for Christ one person at a time. Olivia goes to a few neighbors to "trick or treat", but she would rather give out candy than go door to door. Every year we decorate our yard and porch with pumpkins and fall colors. Through all of it her favorite part is handing out the message of Christ with candy. Try it... you and your family may start a new tradition and I promise you will be blessed. I've posted some pictures from years past.

God bless you.

no topic

I really want to update my blog, but I don't know what to say?? Isn't that crazy? Me, not knowing what to say. I can say I waste a good bit of time on Facebook reading what other people are doing. That's it, my topic!!!

Here's my top 10 list of what my friends are writing on facebook:

10. Watching football
9. It's Monday and they are wishing for Friday
8. waiting for Dancing with the stars
7. quoting the Bible
6. quoting another person quoting the Bible
5. sharing religious videos
4. sharing silly videos
3. talking about the president
2. taking quizzes
1. wasting time reading about what others are doing :-)

Oh well ... that's the truth.

Church was such a blessing to me yesterday. We heard a fantastic Sunday school lesson, uplifting praise and worship, then the pastor brought a powerful sermon. At night we had another motivating service and I left feeling like I had been with the Lord all day.

I wish every day could be like Sunday.

Please pray for many children sick with the flu and colds. Many of my friends (Olivia's friends) are sick with the flu and feeling rotten. Please lift up Summer, Sarah, Mason, Liam and Jonathan. Thanks ...

Be a blessing...
