Hello friends, It is Friday night and I am getting ready to go to church. We are having a worship service at 11:00 tonight until midnight. I let Olivia sleep late this morning, then she and I had a little rest after supper. I am not a "night owl" so this is a big deal for me. I don't even stay up to watch the New Year ring in. I am very excited and looking forward to hearing what the Lord has to say. God is good all the time.
Had a great week playing in the pool, feeding my neighbors pets and taking care of their garden. The Lord watered for me almost every day. It has been fun. Today I found out I won 4 tickets for the upcoming Demi Lovato and David Archuleta concert at the Bi-Lo center. That was a nice surprise! Olivia is so excited. She and I will shop on Saturday for a new outfit to wear.
God takes care of us even in the little things. Off to get dressed. Usually I am asleep at this time of night. Feels strange not having on my PJ's. Oh well ... change is ok sometimes.
Good night readers.
Welcome to a little glimpse of my life. This is my space to share with you who I am, what I believe and how my sweet family lives. I hope when you leave you, you will say you were glad you stopped by. God bless you.

late
This is the day the Lord has made, let's rejoice and be glad in it. I overslept today and already feel behind ... but you know what all things work for good to those who love the Lord. I will trust and obey for there's no other way to be happy in anything, but to trust the Lord and know he has the best for me and YOU.
The dishes will wait until I get there and so will the animals still waiting to be fed. We have to not worry or get uptight about things not going according to plan. We have to remember who the plan maker is ... and it isn't ME.
God bless you today and always. Thanks for stopping by to read.

Pool time :)
God is so good... starting today through next Saturday we will be pool sitting :) Yes, I said it POOL SITTING!!!! Some friends of ours left for the beach this morning and need me to water their garden, feed their dogs and take care of their pool while they are away. YEAH!!! God heard my cry and has answered my prayer. They have a really nice pool with a diving board and a slide. We are looking forward to a fun week. They live in our neighborhood so we'll just pop over and enjoy their backyard oasis before home school starts on August 4th. What a way to spend our last official week of summer before school. Woo Hoo.
Last Sunday my oldest brother Joey turned 50, this Sunday his only son turns 18. Next Sunday August 2nd will be Chris's 41st birthday. Our family will eat cake three Sundays in a row. I could get used to that. Happy Birthday to all my family and of course my friends, Karen (July 23rd) and Wanda (Aug. 1st).
Be safe and be a blessing.

Let go and Let God
James 4:7-10 (New King James Version)
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
These were the words I read Tuesday morning while sitting at the kitchen table having my quiet time. I have to admit tears came flowing down as I read from my bible. I wasn't expecting tears, but they came. I began to pray for the Lord to show me what I was holding onto? What was I being double-minded about? You know God revealed it to me quickly and it wasn't just ONE thing. I had to confess a couple of sins that I didn't even think of as sin. One sin is the sin of MY control vs. God's control. I like to think I can do it on my own. I'll share an example: my Livie hasn't been sleeping good (she wakes almost every night) and calls out to me (therefore I have to get up in the night which makes for a grumpy mom). I asked for prayer from my Sunday school class and two friends recommended I try Melatonin from the vitamin and herb section. I bought it on Sunday and gave it to her and she went right to sleep only to wake up in the night twice. I gave it to her again on Monday and even though it made her sleepy at first she still woke in the night. On Tuesday I read the above scripture with my devotion and I felt very convicted. I said Lord I haven't really given this request of her sleeping /waking to you. So I confessed my quickness to jump ahead of the Lord. Last night my mom said she'd be praying for us to sleep good. I told her I had given it to the Lord and that I trust his plan for our sleep (whether it be for us to actually sleep all night or wake up). I didn't give my daughter the melatonin. She and I read her quiet time book ( that we started back with this week) and we prayed and after a little conversation she went to sleep. I went to bed and slept until Chris's alarm went off this morning. Now to me that is a huge praise and answer to prayer. I confessed my sin of wanting to be in control of our sleep and the Lord in his mercy gave us both a peaceful sleep. I have to remember that God loves Olivia more than I do. He loves me and he cares about our rest. He is in control; not ME. What have I learned from this? this trial caused us to start reading her devotion book and doing our mommy / daughter quiet time again. We put it down when school was out and I thought we'd just pick it back up when school starts ( why would I have done that? she needs that time just as much as I do?). Maybe the Lord used this sleep issue to wake me up to my slackness ? All I know is that being obedient to the Lord and bringing up my daughter in His word is what is important to me. Thank you Lord for waking me up to show me the error of my ways. I love you Lord and I love the person reading this. Please father be with them and lead and guide them as only you can.
When you are facing something and you want the Lord to help be sure to completely give the situation to him and trust him. Let go and Let God. He has our best in mind.

Full schedule
I wasn't kidding when I said I wouldn't have time to blog. What a full week I have had. Next week I hope to take Olivia to the eye doctor (just a check up) and Daisy to the vet. I also have a hair appointment. Wednesday night me and some girls from Bible fellowship are meeting to put up our class bulletin board. My best friend from childhood is turning 40 next Thursday so ... I'll be seeing her. I love life and being busy, but it keeps me away from blogging. Maybe I'll have a good story to share soon. Until then, be safe and enjoy summer.
God bless you.

Busy me :-)
Good morning blog readers. I am in the midst of some very busy days and weeks ahead and wanted to let you know my blogging may slow down for a while. Pray for me and Olivia as we will begin our home school journey very soon. She and I are excited and looking forward to getting started. When I did my student teaching 5th grade was one of the grades I taught so I am looking forward to jumping right in with Olivia's curriculum. Besides home school (which is plenty) I am very busy with Sunday school work. I am class secretary and have to create and print sign up sheets, organize bulletin board supplies, visit home bound lady and call inactive people on our roll. All great things that I enjoy, but also time consuming.
On an "over the hill level" within the next two weeks I'll help organize my brothers 50 birthday party along with my nephews 18th birthday bash. I have two friends turning 40 very soon and will probably have a hand in whatever takes place for them. Can't post that stuff since they read my blog. All in all, my life is extremely blessed and busy right now. I hope you are having a great summer. Hey if you are reading this and you have a pool in your backyard, stop right now and thank the Lord for that blessing :-) also if you and your family are going out of town and you have a pool in your backyard and you need someone to come play in it while you are gone, let us know. We'll pool sit any day :-)
Summer is a great time to be lazy and take days off, but remember the Lords day and keep it holy. Church is just as fun in the summer as it is the rest of the year. If you don't have a church home let me encourage you to pray, seek and visit. www.firstnorth.org

One year blogging anniversary
A year ago today I started this blog and with over 4000 hits later I am still enjoying it. I think blogging is a great way to express yourself and share a little bit of who you are with others. It's a little window into my world.
I am a child of Jesus; saved by grace, through faith. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, daughter in law, sister in law, niece, granddaughter and friend. I wear many hats. I do many tasks. My hope is to be all the Lord would have me to be. My reality is that I fail every day. My Joy comes through Grace. My life is a journey, taken one day at a time. Jesus is my leader and His path is the one I walk. It's that simple.
Know what you believe. Be real. Love your neighbor. Forgive. Pray.
Go be a blessing ...
